News on Millennials, Downloads and Stevie Nicks

USA Today reports that that the world of the young people today has been dominated by technology. Unlike their parent’s youth, young people today live with many more choices and they live their lives dependent on cell phones, iPods and the web. British and American scientists are developing an “emotionally aware” computer capable of reading our minds. Read the

In the “No Kidding Department” iLounge reports that U.S. album sales were down 4.2 percent in the first half of the year but digital music sales grew 77 percent (according to Nielsen Sound Scan figures). Nearly 281 million digital singles were purchased through July 2.

reports that singer/composer Stevie Nicks is donating hundreds of iPods to soldiers wounded in Iraq. She regularly visits The National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, and would like to see every returning soldier receive one of the music players.
